Mother 3
The Sword is the third blade in EarthBound Beginnings. It can only be used by Teddy and is found in Magicant's Crystal Cavern near the area's boss, the Dragon. This weapon adds an additional 46 OFFENSE to Teddy's base stats.
The Sword can only be used very late in the game. Teddy will usually fight enemies such as the Mook and Starman outside of Ellay with it. Once the player eventually acquires the Katana in Mt. Itoi, it is recommended to throw away the Sword.
Trivia[]
- EarthBound lacks an equivalent weapon for this item, but Mother 3's equivalent are the Non-Slip Shoes equipped by Duster in Argilla Pass for 3660 DP. It offers +58 Offense, substantially more than Teddy's.
- In the companion guide, it is called "Ashigaru Sword" in Mother, "Sword" in EarthBound Beginnings, and "Basic Sword" in Mother 1 + 2.
- Its description reads, "A weapon resembling a strangely-shaped sword, which you can find in the maze leading to the Magicant Underflow. Leave it in safekeeping for when you eventually meet Teddy.".
