"A man from the stars."
— Description in EarthBound Beginnings

Starmen are enemies that appear in both EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound. They are the main agents of Giygas.

In EarthBound Beginnings

Starmen appear in many places in EarthBound Beginnings, and know PK Beam and PSI Shield. One is first fought as a boss, appearing as a monochromatic hotel worker in Spookane's hotel that attacks Ninten and co. after they sleep the night, charging a suspiciously cheap fee to lure them in. As an enemy, they can be found in Ellay, the Yucca Desert, north of Youngtown, the Swamp, and at the base of Mt. Itoi. Another version appears in the office of the Zoo, called Starman Jr, a weaker version of the regular Starmen.

In EarthBound

Starmen reappear in EarthBound, where they are found in the Stonehenge Base. Here, they are significantly stronger; they can fire a beam, guard, use PSI Magnet α, Shield α, or use a Sudden Guts Pill. Solidifying them with items such as Jeff's Slime Generator or the Monkey's Love has a relatively high chance of success. They provide a substantial amount of experience when defeated and rarely drop a Brain Food Lunch. The Starmen and the others of Giygas's army in the Stonehenge Base retreat once the Starman Deluxe is defeated.

Starman SSBB Sticker

The Starman sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A Starman appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a sticker. Attaching this sticker to the bottom of Ness or Lucas's trophies in The Subspace Emissary increases their PK attack by ten.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

Starman is an Assist Trophy in Wii U and 3DS. He teleports around and uses PK Beam to attack. He is also an enemy in Smash Run who does the same thing. In both the Wii U and 3DS versions, he appears as a trophy.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Starman appears as a spirit in the new Spirits mode as primary grab type spirit.
