- This article is about the ability in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. For the offensive PSI ability in the Mother series, see PSI Freeze.
PK Freeze is a Special Move in the Super Smash Bros. video game series. It is performed by the Neutral B combination, and acts very similar to Ness's PK Flash. PK Freeze can be used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl by Lucas. In Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/forWii U, PK Freeze is an unlockable custom move for Ness.
When performed, a snowflake flies into the air. As the B Button is held, the snowflake charges its power as it hovers above, until the B Button is released, or until it is fully charged, at which point it explodes, freezing anyone in its vicinity, as well as harshly damaging the players who are hit. The move is canceled if Lucas is hit by an opponent, much like how PK Flash is canceled if Ness is hit while performing the move.
Compared to PK Flash, PK Freeze travels much further and charges much faster. PK Freeze does gain slight power and the opponent remains frozen longer if PK Freeze is charged to its peak power. At its smallest charge point, the opponent is frozen for a very short time. The move is similar to the Ice Climbers' Special Move, Blizzard.
- In Mother 3, this move is actually not realized by Lucas, but by Kumatora. A possible explanation for this discrepancy is offered in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which states that Kumatora may have taught him the technique for his appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series.
- The sprite that PK Freeze uses in Brawl is the removed sprite for PK Freeze Gamma in Mother 3.
