These are the rules for the EarthBound wiki. Failure to follow these rules may result in a three month ban or higher.
General Rules
These are the things that many of you know about but should probably be listed here anyways:
- No vandalizing pages.
- Be respectful to other users, all of them.
- Don't create spam/uneeded pages.
- Please refrain from creating pages with little or no content. A paragraph (at least four sentences) is preferred.
- Don't add/create anything that may be offensive to other people.
- Don't add stuff to pages that violates Wikia's Terms of use: http://www.wikia.com/Terms_of_Use.
- Don't post anything illegal (such as malware).
Image/Audio/Video Policy
If you want to upload a file, please add it somewhere (such as a page, message wall, user page, forum post, etc.). In other words, don't just add files for no reason.
Forum Rules
- Don't create threads just for no reason.
- Please stay on topic in a thread. If you want to say something that isn't relevant to the thread, just create a new one.
- Swearing is allowed, as long as it isn't intended to offend anyone.
- Don't bump threads (posting on an old thread) just for the sake of bumping the thread.
Other
- This is not a fan-fiction wiki. This is a wiki detailing official information from the EarthBound/Mother series. Any fan made content a user might sneakily add in (e.g. entire pages or unsourced information) will be removed on sight.
- No impersonating other users.
Consequences
If you violate any of the rules, except for vandalism, you will receive a warning. After a second offense, you will receive a three month ban. After a third offense, you will receive a one year ban. Any more offenses will result in a permanent ban. If you believe you were banned unfairly, please contact me here.
For vandalizing pages, if the vandalism isn't obvious, you will receive a warning. If you completely ignore the warning, any vandalism will be considered obvious. If the vandalism is obvious, you will receive one strike per page. You will receive a three month ban at one strike, six months at two, one year at three, and all eternity (permaban) at a fourth. Obvious vandalism includes, but is not limited to, memes/jokes, things that aren't related to Mother/EarthBound, and deleting large portions of a page.

A common problem is users not including sources for information they provide. If you have an official source for any major information that you add, please provide it. Any unsourced content will be swiftly removed on sight. If issues like these escalate to the point of edit-warring, the perpetrating users will face consequences.
