The Ghost of Starman is an enemy found late in EarthBound in Onett, as well as the Cave of the Past. It is a member of the Starman family, and is one of the most threatening enemies in the game. It appears to be a black and purple Starman with a pink aura.

- Setting up psychic shields for the entire party extremely recommended, since it always starts with the Sandstorm α.
- It might be possible to defeat it in one turn if it is a battle only against it.
Trivia[]
- Ghosts of Starmen seem to serve as successors to the Blue Starmen in EarthBound Beginnings, as they are the second-strongest members of their species and attempt to prevent the protagonists from reaching the final area of the game.
- Some believe that the Ghost of Starmen enemies are the same Starmen that Ninten defeated in EarthBound Beginnings.
- In the EarthBound Player's Guide, a tip regarding the enemies fought in Onett later in the game claim that the Ghost of Starmen are capable of dropping items such as Multi-Bottle Rockets, but in the final game, it is only capable of dropping the Goddess Ribbon.
- The Ghost of Starman is called "Starman's Ancestor" in Japan, and at one point was going to be called that in the English version.
- At the end of every battle, it has a 1/128 chance of dropping the Goddess Ribbon, Paula's best ribbon in the game.
