Buy Something Will Ya Earthbound Music

Just Buy Something, Will Ya?

"Humoresque of a Little Dog" (also known as "Buy Something, Will Ya?" or "Drug Store") is a song found in all three titles of the Mother series.

It was recorded by Keiichi Suzuki and Hirokazu Tanaka in 1989.

Appearances[]

In EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound, "Humoresque of a Little Dog" can be heard throughout drugstores all over Eagleland and Winters. In EarthBound, its fan-titled name, "Buy Something, Will Ya?", is a reference to the dialogue of the Merchant in The Legend of Zelda for NES.

Mother 3[]

The song can be heard through the jukebox in King P's playroom in the Thunder Tower. 'Humoresque of a Little Dog' likely refers to the dog located in the first drug store in Earthbound that tells Ness that it is possessed by the game's programmers.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

It was later rearranged by Masato Kouda for its an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where it was one of several themes played during the New Pork City stage. This remix is different from the Mother versions, starting off as a slow, country-based song with a banjo theme, before going into a fast-paced hoe style track before looping.

Trivia[]

  • Humoresque of a Little Dog matches the ragtime standard Dallas Rag almost note for note.
  • A humoresque is a lively piece of music originating in 1700s Europe. Though it could be a coincidence, a very similar genre of music from the same time period of Baroque Europe is called the gigue.
