The Buffalo is an enemy in EarthBound Beginnings. It can be encountered in the Eastern Swamp, Ellay, and the Mt. Itoi base. It only attacks physically. It always groups with another Buffalo or 2 Buffalos. This enemy's battle theme is Battle with a Dangerous Foe.

Defensively, the Buffalo has 150 HP and 150 DEFENSE. Offensively, it has 68 OFFENSE, 60 FIGHT, and 43 SPEED. Its resilience to Status Ailments is 40 WISDOM, 40 STRENGTH, and 20 FORCE. It drops 103 EXP and $95 when defeated.

• EarthBound's equivalent to the Buffalo is the Bad Buffalo. It is found in Dusty Dunes Desert. It has significantly more HP and attacks physically, functioning similarly to EarthBound Beginnings. Mother 3 lacks an equivalent enemy.
• In the companion guide, he is called "Buffalo" in all versions of the game.
